| 1997 | Dunlop Maxfli, USA approached to develop the first golf ball containing a microchip – the I.D.Ball. Extensive testing proves that it flies, weighs and reacts like any other premium golf ball. |
| Aug 2000 | Construction of the first TopGolf Game Centre in Watford, England commences. |
| Nov 2000 | The world's first TopGolf Game Centre is opened by European Ryder Cup captain, Sam Torrance OBE. |
| Dec 2000 | TopGolf is featured on BBC1's primetime technology programme, Tomorrow's World. |
| Feb 2001 | Sky Sports & Sky News feature TopGolf. |
| May 2001 | WGS scoops the UK’s highest profile leisure award in recognition of the innovative use of technology behind TopGolf. |
| Jun 2001 | Adidas film a scene from their national television advertising campaign at TopGolf. England international footballer Joe Cole is filmed playing the game. |
| Aug 2001 | Five times Olympic Gold Medallist Sir Steve Redgrave receives hints and tips from David Leadbetter when the sports star visits TopGolf. |
| Aug 2001 | Hosted by Sam Torrance OBE, TopGolf Watford attracts over 1,000 children in just one day to take part in Kids into Golf. |
| Jul 2002 | TopGolf features on BBC1's comedy series Paradise Heights & Channel 5 game show ‘Under Pressure’. |
| Oct 2002 | WGS issue the license to develop TopGolf Game Centres in the UK and Ireland to Baydrive Limited. The company is funded with an intial £15m equity investment from Henderson Private Capital Limited. |
| Apr 2003 | Richard Hill (member of 2003 England Rugby World Cup Winners) presents Steve Jolliffe, the founder of TopGolf, with the Award for Sports Entrepreneur of the Year. |
| Jun 2003 | WGS commissioned by Volvo to develop a chipping game to be played at the Broadgate Arena, London. The 'Volvo Urban Golf Challenge' event was held in the last week of June. |
| Mar 2004 | Second UK TopGolf Game Centre in Chigwell, Essex is opened by Bernard Gallagher OBE. |
| May 2004 | WGS issue the license to develop TopGolf in North America and Canada to Golf Entertainment International Limited. |
| Jun 2004 | Following the success of the Broadgate Area event, the 'TopChip Challenge' was featured at the Volvo PGA at Wentworth. Jose Maria Olazabel scored a hole-in-one! |
| Jul 2005 | Third UK TopGolf Game Centre opened in Surrey by Lee Westwood. |
| Aug 2005 | First USA TopGolf Game Centre opened in Washington. |
| Jan 2006 | TopPutt launched at LIW Leisure Show and London Golf Show. |
| Sep 2007 | Second USA TopGolf Game Centre opened in Dallas. |
